What components does your book have to make it a page-turner?  Or was this book a little slow to get started?  Was there a point where you just couldn't put it down?  Or did you struggle getting through it?  Please provide examples.

  1. I think that there were a lot of parts when it was a page turner. When Joe kept Beck's boyfriend Benji locked up i was always a page turned because you wanted to know what was going to happen to him. It was also a page turner when Joe was with Beck. You never knew if beck would find his things that Joe stole from her like her underwear or her hairbrush hidden around his apartment, what would joe do if Beck found out he was a stocker obsessed with her, and would go all the way to killing her ex boyfriend and best friend just to get time with her?

    1. I agree with Dustin because if Beck found out what Joe had been doing I think she would not react to kindly. Kidnapping Benji and killing him was absolutely horrible but also breaking into Peach's house and trying to kill her when she was out on a run. Beck would never every forgive him. I think she will soon find out he is crazy.

    2. I also agree with Dustin when he had Benji locked up you didn't know what was going to happen next but, when he killed Beck it was kind of crazy. I would have never thought that he would put her in the cage to .

  2. I think that this book is a page turner. Joe is always putting himself into situations that he thinks could help him but really just make things a lot worse in the long run. When reading this book you just watch everything unravel. Like when Joe stalked Beck at the open mic night at a bar. Beck was super drunk and Joe followed her to the train station to make sure that she got home safe. Beck fell over the platform and onto the tracks. She was struggling to get back up and Joe decided to step in and help her. She reluctantly took his hand and he pulled her up back onto the platform. he got her a taxi home and when they pulled up to her house Beck realized that she had lost her phone and she thinks it is on the tracks. Joe agrees to help look for the phone and they exchange emails just incase Joe happens to come across it. Little did Beck know Joe had stolen her phone and he now has access to her entire life.
This book was full of action from the start and was hard to stop reading at all. I would have to say the part were I couldn't put the book down was when Joe decides to kidnap Benji. Benji is Becks on again off again boyfriend. Joe pretends to be a huge person in the soda industry and tricks Benji into going to the book shop and lock him in the cage. Joe kept Benji locked in a cage for days until he finally decided to kill Benji.

    1. I agree with bree this book is a page turner. i feel like once joe has done the craziest thing ever he does something even crazier. First it’s killing her ex boyfirend and then it’s her best friend but the main question is who could he kill next? Because there are so many main charters in this book that revole around beck and joe.

  3. I think that this book is a page turner because, you just never seem to know what Joe is going to do next even though you are reading his thoughts. i think that there were parts that were more interesting than others. But what i thought was the most interesting part was when Joe killed Peach the for real the second time. Also, toward the end of the book it seemed like Joe was getting rid of his problems but then just went truly crazy and killed Beck.

    1. Yes, the author did very well with never knowing whats gonna happen next even though most of the book is just Joes thoughts

  4. The components this book had to make it a page-turner was the craziness of its characters. Each character was unique. Every time Joe decided to find a way to eliminate a character in order to further his relationship with Beck, I was okay with it, because the person was so annoying in the novel that it was good to see them go. Also, right from the beginning the novel is hard to put down because you are trying to wrap your head around how Joe thinks. The guy's a lunatic! Yet, somehow the author did a great job in making his character almost likable to the point that you were rooting for him and his happiness in winning over Beck. The turning point in the novel, where I just couldn't put it down, was when Joe locked Benji in the cage. I knew he would never make it out of there alive.

    1. I agree I thought Peach was pretty annoying but I liked Benji and I was sad when he died. And same at one point I found myself rooting for Joe when I was reading.

  5. I thought this book was one of the most interesting I have read yet, and I couldn't put it down. Almost every scene was a page turner in my opinion. I think the book compelled me so much because there was never a dull moment with Joe. He was always planning his next crazy stalker expedition, or his next kidnapping or murder, etc., so that he could be with Beck. I found it amazing how the book has us on Joe's side, almost rooting for him to kill off Benji or Peach. Then you take a step back and realize you're really cheering on the bad guy, and I think it's amazing how the author can do that to you.

    1. I agree that there was never really a dull moment in the book and it is terrifying how easy it was to start cheering for the bad guy, but I feel like it was the fact that none of them seem like the "good guy" that had you cheering for Joe.

    2. I agree. There was never a dull moment in it whether he was planning what to do next. I also never really realized that I was cheering for their relationship the entire time which is so weird to think about considering I was very aware that they were both completely crazy.

  6. The components that make this book a page turner are Joe continuously killing people that he sees as threats to his and Becks relationship and stalking Beck when she least expected it. The point where I couldn’t put the book down was when he was going to kill Nicky, I didn’t really want Nicky to die but I thought it was weird that he was going to kill him with a nightstick as well.

    1. I agree, the more obsessed he became with beck, the harder it was to just put it down. Not knowing what his next move would be on her was definitely the reasoning behind it being a page turner.

  7. The book is most definitely a "page-turner". I found myself not able to put down the book when Joe was like spiraling and going crazy like when he was reading the emails between Beck and Nicky. Some of his language was very hard to read though, but it is pretty impressive that an author can make you cringe just with a few sentences.

    1. I agree that when Joe began reading the emails between Beck and Nicky, I couldn't put the book down. It was such an unexpected plot twist and it made Joe even more unpredictable.
I also agree that the author is very talented to be able to make readers uncomfortable just by painting a picture in their minds. The language and description she used was incredible and really made this book hard to stop reading!

  8. This book was definitely a page turner. No matter what page you were on his thoughts just kept you going. Then he started killing people and explain some of his background. His attempts at getting closer to Beck got crazier and crazier and you just had to know what happened next. It was just one extreme thing after another. It also seemed like a lot of the people around Beck were kind of crazy too. Weather that was because Beck made it seem like that or maybe Joe thought like that or if they actually were who knows. Peach was faking an illness and was crazy in love with Beck. Benji was on and off drugs all the time and when he disappeared nobody was really surprised.

  9. I think this book was very enticing in an interesting way. This is not my sort of book that I would usually read but I found myself very into it even though I was horrified most of the time. I think the fact that he would just randomly kill people and go to great lengths to find out what Beck was doing or how far he would go to see her made me want to keep reading and want to know what crazy thing he would do next. I also thought it was interesting that Pitch perfect came up so often and how he ended up accidentally torturing her with the into screen for almost 5 hours.

  10. I feel that this book would normally be a page turner for anyone. However, it was a little harder for me to stay interested in this book because I have seen the show itself, and the two are very similar. I feel that the book has a slow start, but once you get to the part where he starts stalking Beck, that's when the pace picks up a little bit more. I have to say that the one thing that made me not want to put it down was to see if things would be a little different in the book versus the show. For the most part, it was similar to the show but some minor details were switched, such as who they all think Ethan is dating. In the show, everyone knows who he is dating and it certainly is not who everyone in the book thinks it is.

    1. I definitely agree that seeing the show made the book go slower. I had an idea of what was going to happen what which kind of ruined the book for me. I also think the book has a slow start. I think this is because the author wants to show Joe's mindset of the world and the power he has.

  11. This book was definitely a page-turner. From the first page, Joe's obsession with Beck started and continued through the entire book. The author's detailed description make it easy for me to see exactly what was going on inside the story. I couldn't put the book down when Beck found all of her things inside Joe's apartment. I didn't know how he would react to his stalking habits being exposed. I did not struggle through this book at all, the plot flowed very smoothly and something new was always happening. This book offers a fresh perspective on an uncomfortable topic and is very hard to put down!

  12. It was just creepy and interesting. Such a weird idea makes it a page-turner for me. The interest started waning after awhile though, because he was literally doing the same thing (stalking Beck) for multiple pages without end. The car crash was an interesting change of pace that kept me reading. It was when the cycle was broken, when he killed Beck, when the interest came back completely. But then the book ended and the sequel sounds like he just does the same thing to another girl. The ending is very disappointing but sets the stage for the book after it.

  13. I think for many people this book was definitely a page turner, but it really wasn't that way for me. I would it very hard to read because of the way Joe views things like how creepy his mindset is about things. It felt kind of slow paced at the beginning and just kept describing things so much. I think it also did not help that I have seen the TV show and knew most of the plot lines. Sometimes I felt as if the author really wasn't explaining things well enough from Joe's POV, I got really confused on how everything will Benji happened. it did get a little more fast paced towards the end because we were getting closer to seeing what happens to Beck. We see Beck get killed, but in a way I think that way inevitable because no one could truly be perfect for Joe's psychotic mind. I think overall I struggled reading this book because it wasn't my type of book. I like a good YA mystery, but this book focused more on mature adults and scenes. I finished the book and took a sigh of relief that I finished it.

  14. This book was definitely a page turner. It started off with Joe being very creepy about Beck. As the story progresses, he commits more crimes and the reader wonders if he will get caught. It kept me wondering if Beck would find out and what she would do about it. I also loved the plot twist where Beck was sleeping with her therapist. Some parts were indeed confusing though, like Benji's situation. But it was a weirdly enjoyable read because of the suspense.
